Direct Cremation in NJ

Are you looking for direct cremation in NJ? Bergen Funeral Service, Inc. provides direct cremation in NJ with compassion, dignity and care.

Direct cremation Guide: Everything you need to know about Direct cremation

Direct cremation is the disposition option where the body is cremated immediately following the death of someone close to you. It takes place without a funeral service beforehand.Direct cremation is one of the most economical and easily affordable options for disposition.

Basic features of cremation without ceremony

Since direct cremation doesn't include any formal ceremony or pre-funeral events, much of the cost of a traditional funeral can be avoided.

  • The deceased body is cremated immediately after their death. This means you may engage the ceremony services directly rather than at a funeral home. This can save you a significant chunk of money.
  • The body is cremated in a simple container instead of an expensive casket.
  • You can hold a memorial service at a later date. This eliminates the need for expensive funeral arrangements and an expensive casket.
  • There is no wake, visitation, or viewing before the cremation, eliminating the need for embalming among other body preparations.

  • How to arrange a direct cremation?

In many cases, the staff at the ceremony is able to handle the different aspects of the cremation including the transportation of the body to the ceremony, completion of the death certificate, and more. In addition, a cremator charges a fraction of the price than what funeral homes would charge for similar services.

You can even work with funeral homes and plan a direct cremation. They will complete the death certificate while also transporting the body to the ceremony for a minimal fee, in addition to the basic fee that they charge for their services.

    Cremation Cost

Direct cremation is one of the least expensive disposition options as some of the expensive purchases like casket, preparing the body, extensive transportation, and funeral services are avoided. Additionally, funeral homes might charge a lower “Basic Services Fee” for direct cremation.

Regardless of which cremation form you choose, Bergen Funeral is here to help. If you’re looking for any advice or help in anything related to funerals, get in touch with us and we will be there for you. Funeral Service in NJ

Are you looking for funeral service in NJ? Bergen Funeral Service has been providing funeral service in NJ for over 50 years.

What is a funeral and do you end up overspending during funerals?

No matter where a funeral is held, a funeral is supposed to be a structured ceremony where the ceremony will memorialize a deceased person. It is intended to engage the attendees in activities to provide mourners with a collective grieving experience to celebrate the life lived. It is also a socially acceptable way for the members of the community to re-affirm and express social attachments.

The focus of funerals, no matter where they are held, lies in acknowledging the change. Without a doubt, humans, as a collective, have trouble dealing with changes in life such as the death of someone close to them. When you take this into perspective, it’ll become easier to understand the significance of ceremonially acknowledging the tear in the social fabric.

How much do funeral services cost usually?

An average funeral cost can cost anywhere between $7,000 and $12,000. This includes the basic service fees, viewing and burial, a casket, transporting remains to a funeral home, and other preparation.

The cost of funeral services has been rising steadily for the past few decades. However, pre-planning for such events that you know will occur inevitably at some point will take away some of the pain from these expenses.

How you end up spending more than usual for funeral services?

    Burial Services in NJ

Are you looking for burial service in NJ? At Bergen Funeral Service, we believe that a burial ceremony should be an experience that is a sacred and personal tribute which honors your loved one's memory.

Plan a Burial Service and Pay Respects to the Fallen Angels

Burial services are a form of services held to memorialize a deceased person. If you scan the history of mankind, it doesn’t matter where or when you look, but burial practices can be easily found.Burial services are seen in television production and Hollywood films with some of them are being uplifting and some attempting to convey the emotional side of the burial. But when it comes to making the arrangements for burial services on behalf of a deceased friend or a family member, it can sometimes be challenging to turn something that is only vaguely familiar into a deeply personal, meaningful event.

Of course, you would want to plan the best possible burial because you’d want to respect and honor the life of your deceased friend or family member. Taking the help of professional burial services will help you identify the major talking points and outline the steps involved to plan an apt burial service.

What all is involved in planning a burial service?

Let’s talk about everything that is involved in planning a burial service. Here are three major areas of concern that you should keep in mind when planning burial services.

  • Selection of cemetery or burial property
  • Unless your family already has a chosen or purchased a burial plot beforehand, the site of burial is an important area to look at.

  • Choosing a casket
  • While the casket is the most expensive purchase you’ll be making during planning the burial services, never choose a casket that doesn’t cost more than you can afford.

  • Planning the details of the burial services

  • The details will depend on your emotional needs and your motives. If your primary focus is simplicity, then the burial services you're going for should be designed to look different from the one that is guided by religious doctrine.

    Direct Cremation in NJ

Are you looking for direct cremation? Bergen Funeral Service, Inc. provides direct cremation with compassion, dignity and care.

Death is the inevitable and final step in this journey called life. Many people do not like to talk about death and making decisions as regards what happens to them after death scares the average person.
In reality, one cannot but talk about it. There is a need to put into consideration what happens to you after leaving this earth. It might seem like a big decision, but when viewing death and options for funeral, we believe that you need to take your time to consider options. So, whether you are looking for options for yourself or for a loved one, take out time to weigh all options available before committing to one.

There are numerous options available when one is considering funeral and burial options. Some of theses options include: restoration, natural burial, mummification and cremation among others. The process of cremation is a now popular concept among a lot of people as it has been discovered that it saves time and cost.
Cremation refers to the process of final disposition of a body through burning. Cremation involves burning of the body and then keeping the ashes or spreading them into the ocean or even planting them whatever the case may be. There are numerous types of cremation process but the most common is the Direct Cremation.
Direct cremation is the cremation of a body in the days immediately following a death. Direct Cremation is sometimes called "simple cremation", it does not include the use of a funeral home or its staff to facilitate any viewing, visitation, funeral or memorial service at the funeral home or graveside.
There are numerous reasons to choose direct cremation as a funeral option. Some of these reasons include but are not limited to the following:
    1. It is cost friendly: Cremation usually costs 40-50% less than traditional burial altogether. For the cremation neither a grave nor a tombstone is required, and many families renounce the embalming. Urns for cremation are generally cheaper than caskets and so on. In some states, in addition to full-service funeral companies, there are also direct incineration companies offering only direct cremation, which further reduces costs.
    2. It saves Space: After the body has been cremated, the ashes can be put into a vessel of your choice or scattered. This provides many opportunities for long-term storage of ashes or other creative ways to spread remnants. By omitting a grave, you can reserve more land for later use.
    3. Gives room for planning Flexibility: Planning a memorial service or celebration of life is more flexible. They are no longer bound to the immediate planning of traditional funerals that take place before the funeral or cremation. In fact, choosing cremation gives you a lot of flexibility. However, by opting for direct cremation, you have saved a significant amount of money (which you can use to pay for the memorial service or celebration of life later).

Finally, when choosing a funeral option, be certain to weigh all your options and choose that which appeals the most to you.

    Cremation Services

Are you looking for Cremation Services? Bergen Funeral Service Inc. has been providing Cremation Services with compassion and dignity for more than 50 years.

    Cremation Service

Funeral arrangements are an emotional time. Whether you are sorting out your funeral, helping your loved one get ready, or make final decisions for a loved one, it is up to you to decide between the funeral and cremation and weigh the benefits of both, choosing which method is best for you, your loved one or your family. While this can be a difficult or sad time, attending funeral services is an important part of someone's mind.

    Cremation Services

A major factor in the increasing popularity of cremation is the rising costs of burial grounds. In addition, many religions and cultures accept cremation better, and society is much less tied to any place. Even if it looks as if "everyone" is cremated, the choice is not always easy. It is a very personal choice that must be based on your cultural and religious beliefs as well as your finances.
A common misconception about cremation services is that you cannot have a traditional burial when choosing cremation. This could not be further from the truth. In fact, you have more options than less. Here are just some of the ways in which you or your loved ones can be honored: Funeral with viewing, then cremation, Funeral without inspection after cremation, Commemoration service at a traditional funeral home, followed by the burial of the ashes, Memorial service on site, Ash spreading in a place of importance to the deceased.
With so many options, future planning becomes even more important. This is especially true because the cost of your cremation depends greatly on the type of service you require. For example, if you choose a view, the body must be embalmed. It will also require a kind of coffin.
The products you will need to buy for the funeral depend on your personal preferences, the type of service you want and what you want to do with the funeral. Most of the time, though, you might need: Funeral coffin, cremation urn.

Questions to Consider When Choosing Cremation Services

If you have funerals before cremation, you can buy a casket or rent it. Would you like to buy a casket that can be used for funerals and cremation or would you like to rent a funeral casket for service and use another cremation container?
If you bury cremated remains in a cemetery, you may also need a burial chamber or burial cope, depending on the rules of the cemetery. What are the cemetery requirements for external containers?
Does the funeral home offer burial vaults or tombs that meet the requirements of the cemetery and your preferences, including at affordable prices?
What are the cemetery requirements for gravestones and gravestones?
Does the graveyard only work with specific vendors or can you buy a tombstone or gravestone from a seller of your choice?
You do not have to deal with the death of a loved one alone. Cremation and funeral services are available and a team of experienced professionals are available to assist you throughout the process.

    Understanding Funeral Home Costs

If you are working with a funeral home to plan a funeral or memorial service, the cost of the funeral can be divided into three main categories: basic service fees, costs of additional services or materials, and cash advancements.

At Bergen Funeral Service, our team at our funeral home in NJ understands how difficult a loss can be, and approaches funeral arrangements with compassion and dignity.

    Basic service charge

The basic service fee, sometimes referred to as “funeral director and staff basic services”, is for the services required for the funeral homes and the costs associated with those services. Basic service and basic service charges cannot be determined, but vary from company to company. In general, “basic services” include:
    • Submit necessary documents
    • Secure necessary permission and copy of death certificate
    • Properly store the remains
    • Coordinate arrangements with cemeteries, crematoriums, or other third parties
    • Expenses related to funeral facilities and management
For burial and cremation, the basic service fee is a flat fee and does not change regardless of the type of arrangement you choose. However, there are four cases with different basic service charges. They include:
    • When the only function of the funeral homes is to receive the remains
    • If the only function of the funeral is to transfer the body
    • If you are planning a direct burial
    • If planning direct cremation
In these four cases, basic service charges may be lower than normal basic service charges. However, some funeral homes may charge a fixed basic service fee for all services including the above four. Note that in many funeral homes, basic service charges are often used as a price indicator, so basic service charges try to be quite low. However, funeral homes may compensate for the decrease in basic service fees at high prices for goods and services. Additional services and goods Additional services and items offered by the facade are available at an additional cost and are at your discretion. These goods and services may include:
    • Antiseptic or cosmetic preparation of the body
    • Use a hall or cemetery hall to visit or visit, fun or commemorative events
    • Use a hearse, limousine or other means of transport
    • Coffin, burial container or
    • Funeral dress
You can decide whether to purchase all other goods and services at your discretion. According to the Federal Trade Commission's funeral rules, you have the right to purchase any goods elsewhere, and the funeral home may not charge you for the use of these goods. However, many fun museums will require certain services based on the service you choose. For example, if you choose to watch or visit, the home may ask you to pre-treat your body.

    Cash advance

Cash advances are fees charged by the hall for any goods or services they may purchase on behalf of you from third-party suppliers. These goods and services can include:
    • Graveyard or cremation fee
    • Compensation for clergy or other service officials
    • Musicians, including organists, pianists and soloists
    • Car rental, including limousine and police escort
    • Report fee
    • Flowers
Some funeral homes may charge you for these items, while others may charge an additional fee above the cost of these items. If the home charges you for an additional service fee, although it is not required to disclose the amount of the fee, the law requires them to disclose it to you. They must also notify you of any discounts or refunds received from the supplier for any prepayments.

    Burial Services in NJ

Are you looking for burial service in NJ? At Bergen Funeral Service, we believe that a burial ceremony should be an experience that is a sacred and personal tribute which honors your loved one's memory.

    Burial Service

The death of a loved one is not easy to deal with. Asides the emotions and the heartache, there is also the planning and the arrangement that needs to be done as regards the final rites of the person. Planning a burial service can be emotionally tasking and if one is not careful, one can let lost in all the planning for the burial service.
In as much as the burial service can be tasking, there are some things that need to be done right. From getting the right funeral home to choosing whether to go with the traditional way of burying or any other form, one needs to be adequately prepared. Below are some things that needs to be crossed out before, during and after the burial service:
    1. Choosing the Burial Site or Property: choosing the right burial site or property requires a lot of consideration. Unlike buying a piece of landed property or a house, choosing a burial site is different. You need to take into consideration the distance of the site to where the loved ones are located (consider how often you want to visit). Also, the burial, as well as any future commemorative visits you make to the location will be subject to the specific by-laws as written by the cemetery administration. Just like when you buy a house, the cost of burial property rights range widely in price, depending on the exact location of the plot, crypt or niche. Furthermore, there are other costs involved with the burial of a loved one, such as the fees charged by the cemetery for the "opening and closing" of the site, the headstone or grave marker and its installation, and the purchase of a casket and burial vault.

    2. Choosing the Casket or Vault: You will usually read that the single most expensive purchase you have to make during this period is the casket. And while this statement might not be entirely true, we will tell you that the purchase does not have to cost you more than you can afford. The cost of a casket, the type of casket you choose will be largely based on personal preference. Do you prefer solid wood or metal? There are caskets made of walnut, cherry, maple, oak, pine and other wood species. Metal barrels come in various thicknesses and a wide selection of finishes.

    3. Inviting the right people: there are some people the deceased would have loved to be at their burial and there are some people who really want to be there. Ensure that invites are sent to the people who are considered worthy of sharing the last rites with you. Ensure to communicate the actual time and date intended for the ceremony to these people.

    4. The Graveside Service: The details really depend on your motivations and emotional needs. If simplicity is your main focus, the funeral service should take on the pattern you and your loved ones agree and feel most comfortable with.
