Cremation Services

When dealing with the passing of a loved one, it can be difficult to make funeral arrangements in addition to everything else that needs to be done. The funeral directors at Bergen Funeral Service Inc are available 24 hours a day, seven days week, 365 days a year to help comfort and assist you through these troubling times. We are a family owned and operated non-denominational funeral home that has been passed down through three generations and provides several types of cremation services.

Many different religions have different stances on cremation. Here are some of the different traditions involving cremation:

Buddhism requires that bodies be cremated.

Hinduism, like Buddhism, require cremation with a few exceptions. Monks and children under five are all buried.

Christian religion once prohibited cremation, but has changed their stance in the 1960s. Although burial is preferred in Christian dogma, cremation is acceptable. There are however still a few orthodox sects that do not allow cremation.

Judaism strictly prohibits cremation with the exception of select European towns where cemetery space is limited. In said towns, cremation has been approved in the late 19th and 20th centuries.

Contact Bergen Funeral Service Inc if you would like more information on cremation services.
